Bristle Blaster® Pneumatic (SP-647-BMC)
The industry standard for grit-free blasting. Simultaneously removes corrosion and generates anchor profile.
Applications · Singapore
High-build epoxies, glass-flake linings and thermal-spray systems need an angular profile to adhere. The Bristle Blaster® generates it in one pass and Flakecoat verifies it before coating.
The problem on site
Coating adhesion depends first on the profile. A coating specification will state a profile range, typically 50–100 µm for epoxies and glass-flake systems, and an inspector will measure it with replica tape or a profile gauge. Power-tool cleaning with discs and wire brushes cannot produce it; grit blasting can, with all its logistics.
The Bristle Blaster® is a hand tool that generates an angular profile: each bristle tip impacts the surface with the energy of an abrasive particle. Independent evaluations report 65–85 µm Rz on carbon steel with the standard belt — within the window most high-performance coatings ask for. Flakecoat measures and records it on every job.
For the specification
How it is done
Take the profile range from the coating manufacturer’s TDS; Flakecoat confirms the system and the range in the quotation.
One pass cleans and profiles. Belt condition matters: a worn belt cleans but does not cut the same profile.
Measure at the frequency the specification calls for and record it; M-TESTCO® instruments are available.
Apply the primer before flash rust; in Singapore, that means the same shift.

Yes for most systems, which specify 60–100 µm; confirm against the specific TDS. Flakecoat quotes the lining and the preparation together so the two match.
Yes. Cleaning continues, but profile depth drops. A genuine belt is rated at about one belt-hour; replace it when the profile reading falls.
Yes. Replica-tape readings, cleanliness photographs and film-thickness records are issued with the completion report.
