Bristle Blaster® Pneumatic (SP-647-BMC)
The industry standard for grit-free blasting. Simultaneously removes corrosion and generates anchor profile.

In-service corrosion repair, tank and vessel linings and equipment refurbishment for Singapore’s refineries, petrochemical complexes and terminals, planned around your permit-to-work and turnaround windows.
The situation on site
Process units on Jurong Island, Pulau Bukom and Tuas run continuously, sit metres apart and operate under strict permit-to-work systems. Abrasive blasting on a live unit means containment, a blasting risk assessment and neighbouring contractors standing down , so spot corrosion on pipe racks, supports, vessels and tank roofs is often left until the next turnaround.
Flakecoat prepares steel in place with ATEX-approved MontiPower® Bristle Blaster® tools (no grit, no containment, no open flame) and follows with glass-flake, ceramic-epoxy or urethane systems matched to the service. Our crews hold site inductions with the major operators, work to the plant’s PTW, and document cleanliness, profile and film thickness for your inspector.
What we do here
How we work
We inspect, measure profile and thickness, and specify preparation and coating against your service conditions and standards.
Grit-free preparation to a cleanliness comparable to Sa 2½ with a 65–85 µm profile, in place, under your permit-to-work.
Glass-flake, ceramic-epoxy, urethane or FRP systems applied by our own crews, on site or in Tuas.
Film thickness, holiday testing and profile records issued with the completion report for your QA file.

Questions we get asked
Learn more about our heritage and the specialized services we provide.
Yes. Pneumatic ATEX-approved Bristle Blaster® tools are designed for hazardous zones and produce no grit or open flame. Work is carried out under the plant’s permit-to-work; we supply the tool certificates and method statement for your risk assessment.
Our crews are inducted with the major operators and hold the passes required for Jurong Island and the terminals. Tell us the site on your enquiry and we confirm access lead time.
Glass-flake vinyl ester (NV6000 series) for aggressive chemical and seawater immersion, glass-flake polyester (P2000S) for external steel and splash zones, and ceramic-reinforced epoxy for erosion and rebuilds. We recommend the system against your service conditions and confirm it with the coating datasheet.
Drawings, photos or a site walk are enough to start. Our Singapore engineers quote preparation, coating and refurbishment with a programme and the standards we work to.
