Linings and refurbishment for water treatment, NEWater and wastewater assets

Chemical-resistant glass-flake and urethane linings, pump and screen refurbishment and concrete protection for Singapore’s water plants and industrial effluent systems.

The situation on site

Working in this sector

Water and wastewater assets combine everything that attacks a coating: continuous immersion, chemicals, abrasion from solids and hydrogen-sulphide attack on concrete. Flakecoat applies glass-flake vinyl-ester and urethane systems to steel and concrete tanks, channels, clarifiers and sumps, and refurbishes the pumps, screens and valves that serve them.

Preparation is carried out in confined spaces with grit-free tools and extraction, so there is no spent media to remove from a tank floor before the lining goes on — and the plant returns to service on the date in the programme.

What we do here

Typical scopes of work

Tank & channel linings

Glass-flake and urethane linings on steel and concrete for effluent, sludge, chemical dosing and process tanks.

Concrete protection

Chemical-resistant systems over prepared concrete in clarifiers, channels, bunds and pump sumps.

Pumps, screens & valves

Wetted components rebuilt with ceramic-epoxy and urethane, lined for abrasive and corrosive service.

Potable-water systems

Certified linings for reservoirs and potable-water tanks where required.

Questions we get asked

Before you tender

Learn more about our heritage and the specialized services we provide.

Can glass-flake systems be applied to concrete?

Yes. Concrete is prepared by grinding or light blasting, primed with the basecoat and lined to a higher build to bridge porosity. This is standard for bunds, sumps and channels.

How do you prepare inside a confined tank?

Grit-free Bristle Blaster® tools with extraction hoods keep dust down and leave no spent media; the crew works to the site’s confined-space entry procedure.

Do you serve industrial effluent plants as well as utilities?

Yes. Petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and electronics plants with their own effluent treatment are regular clients.
