Can worn pump casings be rebuilt or must they be replaced?
Usually, if the casing is structurally sound. Worn areas are rebuilt with ceramic-reinforced epoxy and machined to drawing, typically at a fraction of the cost and lead time of a new casting.
What is the typical lifespan of a refurbished component?
With a lining matched to the service, a refurbished component often lasts as long as a new bare casting or longer, because the wetted surface is no longer bare metal. We inspect at the next planned outage.
