Bristle Blaster® Pneumatic (SP-647-BMC)
The industry standard for grit-free blasting. Simultaneously removes corrosion and generates anchor profile.
Applications · Singapore
Rust grade C and D steel taken back to a cleanliness comparable to ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½ – Sa 3 with a 65–85 µm profile, on pipe racks, tank roofs, structures and equipment across Singapore, in place and under your permit-to-work.
The problem on site
In Singapore’s humidity, steel that has lost its coating rusts to grade C or D within months. Wire brushing and needle guns polish the surface to St 2 – St 3 and leave a profile too smooth for a high-build coating; grit blasting reaches Sa 2½ but needs containment, waste disposal and, on a live plant, a shutdown window.
The Bristle Blaster® removes rust and mill scale by cold-working the surface with hardened bristle tips: each tip strikes the steel, removes corrosion product and rebounds, leaving a fresh, angular anchor profile, the same result as an abrasive particle without the abrasive. Flakecoat crews use it for in-service repairs and follow with the correct coating system; maintenance teams buy the tool and belts from our Tuas stock.

How it is done
Rust grade, coating thickness and access decide belt width (23 mm open areas, 11 mm tight access) and tool drive: pneumatic, electric or cordless.
One pass removes rust and mill scale and cuts the profile. Steel belts for carbon steel; stainless belts for stainless and non-ferrous.
Check cleanliness against ISO 8501-1 photographs and profile with replica tape or a gauge before the coating goes on.
Apply the specified primer, epoxy or glass-flake system within the coating’s recoat window; the prepared surface has no embedded grit or dust.

On rust grade C–D carbon steel the Bristle Blaster® produces a cleanliness comparable to Sa 2½ – Sa 3 and a 65–85 µm profile. On very large open areas a blast crew is still faster; on smaller areas, edges, welds and live assets the tool avoids the containment and the downtime.
Yes. The bristle tips reach into pits that a grinding disc bridges over. Deep pits are cleaned, then filled and rebuilt with epoxy repair compounds before coating.
Yes, provided the profile is verified. Glass-flake systems typically specify 60–100 µm; the tool delivers 65–85 µm on carbon steel with the standard belt.
